It took me longer than it should have to get down to LA this weekend. An early drop off and delayed flight later I had been in transit for 4+ hours. No matter. You gotta do what you gotta do to meet the first offspring of some of your oldest friends.
Matt and Yvs made sure we had some good food right away to make me feel like a person again. We headed to Playa del Rey for some lunch at The Tripel which is another of Brooke Williamson’s (from Top Chef) joints.
I opted for the brussel sprout salad (standard) and copied Matt’s beer flight (favorite was the coffee stout). In case you thought I was being super healthy I also joined in on the onion rings (standard), squid ink pasta (nice kick!), shishito peppers (what are the peanuts for?) and the fried pig ear salad (love the texture of these always).
All in all a great start to the weekend! More LA food posts to come. 🙂
