wearing > mi golondrina

I hemmed and hawed for something like 3 months before pulling the trigger on this Mi Golondrina top. I am so glad I did.

Let’s get it out of the way – these tops are not cheap. BUT, they are handmade by artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico and I totally dig shelling out extra cash to pay for great skillz and a company that treats artisans with respect.

I wore the top for the first time this past Saturday to hit up Oakland’s Eat Real Fest and to a surprise birthday party that same night. Here’s a zoom in with a bonus shot of a kougin amann ice cream sandwich (we can talk about that later).

The sleeves and hem are all lined with red ribbon and the back is also embroidered. The garment is made of a breathable cotton.

This is actually my second top from Mi Golondrina. The first came with a small mistake – their icon is a bird which is sewn into the side of the top but it had gotten messed up during the fitting process. Cristina, the owner, quickly sent me a return label free of charge and they ended up making me a new top!

If you order this, keep in mind the longer wait time (it’s considered custom and takes 4-6 weeks). It also comes with shorts that have the red ribbon hems too.
